Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (Music review), Tamil – Yuvan Shankar Raja

Two chronic off-key singers – Yuvan and STR – get together in Oru porambokku, elucidating the virtues of shunning alcohol, in a foot-tapping, street-smart package – appropriately lively! Konjum kili is an interesting combination of Yuvan’s celtic-tinged sound with an earthy folk’ish tune. Sudasuda is trademark Yuvan – captivating melody with gorgeous guitar, while Ulladha naan is non-descript urumi melam-based melange. Vijay Yesudas, however rounds off in style with Dheivangal, an ambient and serene tune, beautifully orchestrated! Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga’s soundtrack doesn’t see Yuvan pushing the envelope, but within his usual and likeable range, the composer does pretty well!
