2 Countries (Music review), Telugu – Gopi Sundar

Ullasamlo has an easy rhythm and a fairly engaging tune that doesn’t aim for anything more. Vareva Dollar Baby is Gopi trying his own Andhra-style kuthu – the sound is intact, but this is Gongura-in-coconut oil. Hey People trudges along with its generic Goan sound. Cheliya cheliya is trademark Gopi, literally, given he reuses his Malayalam original from ‘ Thanne thaane; gorgeous violins you associate with Gopi. He also imports the other song Veluveluthoru in Chiru chiru – remains consistently enjoyable for the eclectic sound! Beyond the imports (that ignores the Malayalam original’s best, Chenthengin!), middling work by Gopi.
