Arrambam (Music review), Tamil – Yuvan Shankar Raja

Posted by Karthik

Adadada arrambame is loaded with festive exuberance and uses alternating percussions to good effect. En fuse pochu sounds like something Yuvan usually reserves for Simbu, right up to the corny lyrics and is just passable. Hare rama‘s heady sound is largely due to Tanvi and Shaktisree’s lovely vocals and catchy rhythm, while the supposed ode to friendship, Melala vedikkuthu, despite being loaded with pleasing sounds, including Shweta Mohan’s rapid-fire singing, doesn’t really add up to something exciting. Stylish Thamizhachi is… a bad joke. Yuvan-Vishnuvardhan combo in Arrambam is either over-confident or too laid-back – the result is largely unlike them.
