Puthagam (Music review), Tamil – James Vasanthan

Posted by Karthik

Kondaadathaan has an addictive stock rhythm; Muthukumar’s lyrics are terribly templatized, however. Mella pookkudhe is lovely! Vocals by Bellie Raj and Deepa Miriam, and gorgeous violin-led orchestration adds to the melody. Italica is pointless; gibberish lyrics by Pa.Vijay too. Say That You Love Me has an oddly catchy 80s pop sound – that it’s well sung by Suchitra and Prasad helps too. Money Is So Funny is the soundtrack’s highlight – true-blue rock with typical pitch changes and punchy lyrics to go with it by Madhan Karky – pulsating listen! James’s music is erratic, as usual, but the highlights impress!
