Anuragham is drop-dead gorgeous! Rahul Subrahmanian’s version is a bit conventional, ballad’ish with great guitar, while Divya Menon rocks the reprise with her sweet rendering! Remya Nambeesan and Sachin Warrier’s sonorous vocals, along with the sarod usage, in a slow, ghazal’ish backdrop are the highlights of Muthuchippi – wonderful listen. Anuraghathin, by Vineeth Srinivsan goes true-blue ghazal, with even better vocals, while Sachin Warrier is in superb form in the title song, a retro’ish tune underlined by marvelously mild orchestration. Shyaamambaram has the harmonium nudging the pleasing pop-feel; and with Vineeth singing it, it gets better. Pranande naalangal sees Shaan playing around with the sound innovatively, even as Yasin Nazir offers solid support with his singing. Arun Alat’s Namosthuthe is an interesting mix of a pious-sounding tune layered on seemingly pop’ish orchestration; the combination works very well, complete with neat violin phrases that join the song as it progresses! The best part of this wonderful soundtrack – if one were to not complain about the short duration of the songs – is the supreme confidence it has in its melodies; not a single track that moves away from the overall serene feel! After Malarvaadi Arts Club, Vineeth and Shaan’s winning combo continues!
