After lamenting forever about the lack of anything interesting from Ilayaraja, here he comes…with a 3-track soundtrack – in Malayalam! Thira Thallippoyalum by Karthik is delightful nostalgia – an unpolluted and genuinely beautiful tune adorned with unintrusive and appropriate backgrounds. Chitra and Rahul Nambiar’s Swapnangal kannezhuthiya starts like the anupallavi of some vague, unrecognizable Raja song and goes on to remind us how beautiful Karagaattakkaaran’s Indha maan indeed was! Allippoove mallippoove is the most modern of the three, but that part which brings back pleasant memories of (very aptly named) Sendhoorappoove (Padhinaaru Vayadhinile!) is mesmerizing! Blissful remedy for the Rajasick!
