Music review: Sarvvam (Tamil – Yuvan Shankar Raja)

Ilayaraja pitches in with cool vocals in the hep Adada vaa, the highlight of which is that persistent flute piece! Sutta suriyana carries Yuvan’s Pattiyal sound, but is punchy enough. Kaatrukkullae could have reached new heights had it been sung by another singer – Yuvan spoils this fascinatingly arranged tune. Neethaane has Yuvan working his magic on the orchestration, even as he gets behind the mike with his usual panache and off-key’ness! Siragugal, in spite of that assembly-line rhythm, has a wonderful tune, but annoyingly poor Tamil diction by Javed Ali. After two average soundtracks, Yuvan gets his groove back.
