Rahman’s lessons on existentialism in the jazzy title song is only marginally interesting, while Runa Rizvi and Sukhwinder’s two version Jaane tu mera is beautiful – with excellent variations and heart-rending lyrics. The teasy Nazrein milana and the longing Kahin to hogi are neat musical attempts – the former, young and fresh and the latter, a ballad’ish, soft melody. The soundtrack however belongs to Rashid Ali’s Kabhi kabhi and the groovy, rockin’ Pappu cant dance! Abbas Tyrewala’s directorial debut has Rahman giving him youthful and trendy numbers, even though the overall package is entertainingly diverse from a standard Rahman product!
