Jillunu oru kaadhal (Tamil – A R Rahman)

Kummi adi is catchy, with a Malayalee flavor and rhythmic lyrics. Besides the Kannada ‘raja’, Majaa sounds straight out of Hamsalekha’s repertoire. The interludes bear Rahman’s stamp though. Maaricham has a pulsating, unique sound but is largely fragmented. Machakaari is hummable no doubt, though predictably tuned! Munbe vaa is the highlight of the album, with a pristine melody sung beautifully by Shreya & Naresh. New York with Rahman’s vocals carries a fabulous Sting’like sound with breathtaking arrangements. The title song, with its 50s jazz feel is innovative in the typical Rahman way! Rahman weaves music magic once again…perhaps not wholeheartedly!
