Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (Music review), Tamil – Yuvan Shankar Raja

Posted by Karthik

High On Love should ideally be High on Yuvan! The entrancing melody is vintage Yuvan, with a deeply engaging orchestration and Sid Sriram’s stupendous vocals. Dope Track is equally brilliant. The melody is affecting, and even Yuvan’s poor diction and off-track singing seem pardonable given the wonderfully pulsating music. Hold Me Now is a hattrick! Sanjith Hegde breezes through the seductive tune, along with Thurga, and Yuvan’s superbly catchy EDM sound. But Yuvan could have opted for a different singer in Surprise Me – his singing—and Priya Mali’s too—leaves a lot to be desired for an otherwise likeable melody. Never Let Me Go and its female version, I Will Never Let You Go, are straight out of Yuvan’s 7G Rainbow Colony repertoire – almost as good a companion song to Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthen! Let’s be Friends? and Secret Window ride on Yuvan’s flashy rock sound and the singers’ charm, Cliffy Carlton and Al Rufian. Devan superbly owns the short, a capella Hello, while Teekay is audibly bad with his singing and diction in Wake Me Up Everyday. The other 2 short tracks, Miss You Papa and It’s Over are thematically apt. Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is a delightful follow-up to Peranbu!
