Adventures of Omanakuttan (Music review), Malayalam – Arun Muraleedharan and Dawn Vincent

Arun Muraleedharan starts with Varminnal, wonderfully energetic number, delivered brilliantly by Haricharan. The composer layers it with a nice semi-classical touch that works well with the pop’ish sound. Shakthisree Gopalan holds Ilamai with her commanding vocals, backed by minimal guitar. Arun’s last, Enthanu mone is also his most inventive – vibrant and almost Santhosh Narayanan’ish, headlined by Anthony Daasan’s lively singing. Composer Dawn Vincent opens his account with a Kannada song, Karirulu! Arun James’s stylish drawl adds to the jazzy song’s charm. Thaniye and Tarara‘s tunes are considerably less interesting, despite the spritely orchestration. Omanakuttan gains more from Arun’s music.
