Pori vaithu is Vishal Chandrashekhar’s version of Kaakha Kaakha’s Ennai konjam maatri, with a lovely dash of violin and rock, and lyricist Viveka’s wordplay imagining on similar lines, of a Police officer falling in love, like ‘Seerudai pottu nadandhavanai, siragugal pootti parakka vittaai’. Mugam theriya is a sermon on what constitutes a crime, with Viveka striking once again: ‘Yedhumattru azhuvorkellaam, Iraivan dhaane koolipadai thalaivan!’. In Thoduvaanam, Vishal ropes in his wife Sinduri to wonderfully deliver a serenely short melody. The K23 theme passes muster. Kuttram 23 offers Vishal Chandrashekhar’s most mainstream’y sound, beyond the experimental brilliance of Jil Jung Juk.
