Komban (Music review), Tamil – G V Prakash Kumar

Kambikara vetti traverses through two distinct tunes and rhythms and both are engaging, thanks to earthy vocals by VM Mahalingam and Ananthu, besides Thanikkodi’s absorbing folksy lyrics. Appappa is a soft, minimal melody – Shreya and GVP breeze through it easily. Karuppu nerathazhagi could have been composed by Devi Sri Prasad, but it’s a lively, catchy song, no doubt. Mella valanjadhu is that mellow song playing in the background as the characters on screen get teary eyed in goodness – templatized tune too. Komban theme is a aimless folk melange. Komban has GVP going through the motions with faux-folk templates.
