Vinmeengal‘s reggae sound is fresh, but Shaktisree sounds oddly out of sorts! Kanneer thuliye has an engaging guitar base, but something in the tune or Vijay Yesudas’ singing doesn’t gel, much like the duet version where Nithya Menen joins and both sound awkward. The spate of awkward singing continues in Hi My Name is Malini too with as many as 5 women singing badly, with one going particularly haywire. Madharthammai, even in Karthik’s dependable voice, has something incongruent between the vocal track and music, and it gets heightened in Nithya’s remix. Bad singing seems like the bane of this Malini.
