College paadam is old stock of boring college’y lyrics, set to middling music, but the composer joins his fiancé Saindhavi for the breezy techno in Yaar ivano – well sung and well-tuned! Simbu performs well in Kalaaipom, a Gangsta rap that sees many other local mixes to interesting effect. Despite the catchy outlook, Malgova is annoyingly outdated item material, but the soundtrack’s highlight is Shalmali Kholgade’s Raja raja! GV reserves a wonderful solo for her, with minimal, choice orchestration and she demolishes it with her awesome vocals! Satisfactory fare from GV Prakash Kumar, but Raja raja is a complete knockout!
