Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (Music review), Hindi – Amit Trivedi

Kiklikalerdi is rhythmic and catchy, no doubt, but is also rather rudimentary. Motorwada gets it right with funky Punjabi layer on hip-hop. The title song is wonderfully earthy, but also so un-Amit’ish with its bare minimum, authentic sound; its instrumental version carries Amit’s signature, though! Harshdeep Kaur sounds stunning in Luni hasi and literally carries the delightfully melodious tune better than Devender Singh’s version, even if the latter is better orchestrated! Makkhan malai more Anand Milind than Amit Trivedi, while Farukha baadi is no better with its severely templatized Punjabi drawl. Amit seems oddly out of his comfort zone here!
