Kondaadum manasu, despite the standard template of a modern-day composer’s version of a rustic song, does evoke interest in the chorus, Anand Aravindakshan’s vocals and Rahnanthan’s well assembled music. Rekkai mulaiththen uses a catchy latino’ish base and GV Prakash’s surprise role as vocalist works quite well! Nenjukkulle falls into the template trap harder and despite Saindhavi’s lively vocals it is too dreary to make an impact. Ditto with Kaadhal vandhu – the tune is thoroughly humdrum to stand out. Rahnanthan’s music in Sundarapandian is occasionally interesting – same goes for his composing career in Tamil films too; not too encouraging, that.
