Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi (Music review), Hindi – Jeet Ganguly

Ishq mein and Khatti meethi ride high on two things – their captivating Latino sound and tune, and Shreya Ghoshal’s sparkling vocals; the latter is clearly the better of the two. Kaafir andhere is KK’s brilliant show – he takes on the low and sprawling high notes in this melody exceedingly well. The title song is a standard Pritam’ish Neeraj Shridhar template. Usha Uthup’s Rhamba mein samba is another painful template, but Mohit Chauhan shines in the almost-conversational Kuku duku, with lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya making a mark! With effective reuse of his Bengali songs, Jeet delivers an enjoyable soundtrack here!

Keywords: Boman Irani, Farah Khan, Jeet Ganguly, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi

Note: If you’re wondering about the Bengali originals (all by Jeet Ganguly himself, of course), here goes:
– Khatti meethi – Jhiri jhiri (Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar)
– Kaafir andhere – Batashe gungun (Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar)
– Kuku duku – Ek cup cha (Prem Amar)
– Ishq mein tere bina – Mahi rey (System) – a lot changed here, from the original.
