Indha vaan veli is strikingly moving – Anand Aravindakshan’s soulful singing makes a big difference to the already impactful tune by K. Thappaattam is diametrically different – an exuberant retro disco’ish track with the occasional kuthu – makes for quite a catchy listen! Vandana Srinivasan’s Indha vaan veli snippet, Dhisai ariyadhu and Indha vaan veli’s two other variants, flute version and Ode to Motherhood theme add wonderful dimensions to the original. The very short I Won’t Give Up theme evokes very strong memories of Ilayaraja with its nuanced flute and tabla combo. Composer K hugely impresses again, after Yuddham Sei!
