The Destiny starts laboriously but picks itself up impressively as the jadhis kick in, while the lovely melody in Poovin manam gains from Tippu and Harini’s vocals and specially Na. Muthukumar’s words. Unnikrishnan makes a refreshing comeback in Vaanmazhayin thuligal, though, even along with Sudha Raghunathan, the song is strictly an instrumental mish-mash’ish. Poi vaa magale is painfully dated pathos with an assortment of noisy backgrounds. The soundtrack’s highlight is the haunting Chinnanchiru idhayathil. Reminiscent of Rahman’s Tajmahal number Kulirudhu, the song’s arrangements are consistently captivating. Narthaki’s soundtrack is a modest effort from the young composer with two standout melodies.
