Aadona stepsu is suitably groovy – standard tune, but those retro-styled arrangements work, while Bengaluru galligela is straight out of Manisharma’s massy repertoire – folksy, catchy hook saves it. Bul bul has Joshua’s unique sound – and he excels in home turf! Devareno neenu, however, goes repetitively overboard with his signature style. Kokkoko is a poor rehash of an already poor Tamil song by Joshua, while Sayyare is poorer, rehash or not. Shankar Ganesh’s 90s song from Shambavi, Saarayi shisheyali gets a remix – forced, drunken pathos, minimally modernized; SPB being its sole saviour. After a fabulous Gaana Bajaana, Devadas is disappointing!
