After the recession is almost over, allegedly, we have an ode…in the form of Banthu banthu recession! It’s mundane and pedestrian, as a song, anyway. Gelluba gelluba is the stuff of legendary bad songs – one outdated Middle Eastern sound that seems entirely inane. Ivanu yaaravva, with its 80s sound is even more annoying, while Maneyanu kattona has Mano Murthy aping Pritam’s style and failing miserably. Ironically, the only song that works is the remix of the composer’s own America America number – the title song. Mano Murthy and Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar perhaps need to seriously introspect on their music strategy.
