Bappi Lahiri’s pop album, My Love, seems like a rude joke. It’s everything that everyone makes fun of the composer, once known for his pretty good tunes and massive plagiarism. Pyar to hona tha is perhaps the only track that evokes some interest, with a neat Latin’esque tune. The title song with that bizarre rap; the reasonably catchy Roshni, spoilt adequately by Bappi’s vocals; a pathos track that jumps at you from the 80s, in Dil ke panno pe are some atrocious material added in this album. Bappi’s truly an enigma – senile one at that, long outliving his expiry date.
