With I miss you da, Rahman – as usual – collectively preempts his peers by bending genres to create something stunningly path-breaking. The Meenaxi tracks – the folk’ish Chinnamma and Naan eppodhu, with Reena’s pronunciation slips in an otherwise lovely tune – are breezy in their reworked avatar. The Roobaroo’esque Elay goes a few notches ahead in orchestration, and is the highlight of the album. With Sakkarakatti, Rahman pulls off a vibrant, stylish and youthful Jaane tu…, in Tamil!
