Ganesh Hegde’s reworking of Pancham’s classic falls way short, barring, perhaps Amitabh’s Kabhi kabhi dialog with a twist and its picturization, that’s quite besides the point. Ruk ja, Hai aag yeh are the usual Amar Mohile stuff – incoherent. His Dum is surprisingly good, however – with fantastic arrangements and Vinod Rathod in his elements! Prasanna Shekhar’s Holi has way too many (singer) cooks, while his Yeh dosti replacement – Jee le hams, except for the fancy guitar work. Nitin Raikwar’s Cha raha is best forgotten. I wonder how long RGV will continue flogging the same bunch of composers with amazingly pointless results!
