Aare aare has that trademark Sandesh sound – minimal and very middle-of-the-road – and he sings it well too! Anjali’s lyrics in Boondein is delightfully imaginative and the simple tune is handled beautifully. Sunidhi and Ali Ghani elevate Yeh sawan, as Sandesh backs it up with a rhythmic sound reminiscent of his Piya in Big Brother. But the rest of the album goes awry – Dhar jaisi plays in its own world, Spirit of rain starts ambitiously but falls apart, while Rasiya is a pain, thanks to two Kakkars. Barring 3 interesting tracks, the rest of Baarish is watered down!
