High on current Malayalam film music trend of sounding pleasantly techno, but still lacking the finesse of, say, Jayachandran (the composer, not the singer!), this album is a let down. Except Hariharan’s Mazhaye mazhaye, the rest just plays by. Usha Uthup does sound like the plump Saritha you see on screen, but the song is no great shakes. Gayatri Varma’s Anbe anbe doesn’t excite. Yeno sounds like a situational song gone awry. Sujatha’s version of Mazhaye is just about listenable. Sharath is definitely more welcome than Devi Sri Prasad, but this might not be his ideal launch pad in Tamil!
