Don’t touch me is breathlessly hurried and Mukhbir’s Jeena features in this album too – Sameer’s lyrics work, but the music doesn’t. The sufi-tinged Pardesi is lilting and impresses as much as the mellow Bhool ja. Jhumka gira re, Dum pe maro and Chana chana, with their overpoweringly stylish sound, are decent, catchy listens, while in the passable Tanha tanha, Sandeep does something that Anu Malik failed to do in Love Story 2050 – rightfully credit the string section to John Barry’s You only live twice theme! Barring Sandeep’s usual sound, that casual twang in Sonu’s singing is distinctly annoying.
