Let’s go to Mumbai City, with Jermaine Jackson does have a Jackson’ish sound, but is largely disappointing mish-mash of sounds. The title song and Chalo are the best of the lot – typical Adnan material, both; the former is catchy and lively, while the latter is pensive and thoughtful. Out of the 3 Salim-Sulaiman arranged tracks, the soft Mehfooz and uptempo Laila impress, while Tu salaamat rahe drags. Dekha tujhe is filmy and predictable, but Sharmili, with its middle-eastern touch is a good listen. Ek ladki deewani si is a standard Adnan Sami album, with nothing really special about it.
PS: A special note on the sound arrangement by John Stewart – pretty impressive!
