Guppedantha Prema (Music review), Telugu – Navneeth Sundar

Naalo alajadedho‘s breezy melody and the short Udayame na asha are very Mickey J Meyer’ish in their minimal sound; great listen, both. Shashaa is fantastic in the frothy, Disney Theme’ish Yedha loyallo, aptly supported by Karthik. Ranjith confidently handles the catchy Tere dil se, while Vandana Srinivasan is scintillating (as is Ramakrishnan Lakshmanan’s solo violin in the Unplugged version) in Sakhiya, an instantly likeable, possibly-Desh melody, tastefully orchestrated by Navneeth. Di do di do and Gaayamai maanuna are relatively templatised and conventional, while Navneeth holds Kanule kalaga‘s soaring tune together. Navneeth ups the ante post , with Guppedantha Prema’s soundtrack.

Keywords: Guppedantha Prema, Navneeth Sundar

Note: Sakhiya brings to my mind bits of Kandukonden Kandukonden’s Kannamoochi yenada (Nattakurinji; “vaan veliyai ketten, vidhaye illai”) and even Nadodi’s Androru naal idhe nilavil!
