Barring the corny lyrics, Vandha mala has limited engaging power, using a simple, jaded tune. Unnale is a surprise because it is no sung by Saindhavi – seems tailor-made for her; still, nice enough waltz’y tune wandled well by Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya. Sattena idi mazhai fares even better, with its funky melody line and alluring sounds. Harini is fantastic in Un vizhigalil, another predictable, but likeable melody. GV Prakash’s diction continues to be erratic, but he makes it up in Anbe anbe‘s tune fairly well. The theme is an eerie jumble. GV Prakash Kumar’s spotty form continues with Darling.
