Veeram (Music review), Tamil – Devi Sri Prasad

Nallavannu solvaanga is every bit a templatized, predictable Devi-style hero-intro (plus his 4 brothers, no less) song – passable fun. Ival dhaana has a catchy, addictive lilt that works beautifully for the melody, while Thangame tilts more towards a staid old Devi format that refuses to make any impact. Jing chakaan is no different – faux folk, despite Pushpavanam Kuppusamy’s presence and a completely uninspiring package. The short Veeram title song is adequately background’ish for slowmo shots of the salt and pepper Thala doing things. Veeram’s soundtrack is just standard issue Devi Sri Prasad with only the rare, occasional solace.
