Of the two songs by Chirantan Bhatt, Mumbai ke hero has a street-smart tune, but is also incredibly absurd. His other song, Lamhaa tera works better with a breezy melody, sung well by Wajhi Farooki and Palak. Meet Bros Anjan Ankit’s Pinky is horrendously raucous, while the qawali, Khochey pathan is just perfunctory. Their last, Kaatilana, thankfully works very well – Pancham’ish flourishes and spirited singing by Shweta Pandit! The other qawali, Anand Raj Anand’s Shakila Banoo is several shades better than Khochey pathan, with spunky vocals by Shreya Ghoshal. But for these two songs, this Zanjeer’s soundtrack is broken.
