Modern kalyanam works with its spritely pop sound layered with occasional nadaswaram+thavil mix, and funky vocals by Nikita and Megha Harini. Mella sirithai is dulcet in the truest sense, with fabulous singing by Haricharan and Chinmayi. Kalyanam 2.0 skilfully modernises familiar wedding songs to superb effect! Pallu pona‘s sivaranjani raga base is endearing amidst its world music ambitions, with a fairly confident singing debut by actor Prasanna, offering strong support to Sangeetha Rajeshwaran. Keerthana makes a solid impact (besides the uncredited male backing voice) in the pensive melody Kaadhal marandhayaada. Promising composing debut by Arrora aka Navin Iyer!
