Sajid-Wajid’s lone track Mashallah is every note stereotyped Middle Eastern generic music; stunningly bland. Not to be left behind, Sohail Sen opens his account with the heavily Latino-stereotyped Laapata which just has its breezy sound going for it amidst a painfully stale tune. Banjaara starts out well enough, with the predominant Yuvan Shankar Raja’ish Celtic interlude, but peters down into completely something mundane. If you ignore the background’ish, mishmash of a theme, the only track standing out is Saiyaara – wonderfully resonant tune, beautifully sung by Mohit Chauhan and Tarannum Malik. Soundtrack-wise this is not a tiger – only a cat.
