Gappu aappu is a scintillating combination of Parthiban’s massy wordplay and a cool tune from Joshua. Parthiban’s verses stand out in three other melodies – Ikkuthae, Thanana thanthana and Kadalirandu; Shreya Ghoshal, Swetha Mohan and Chinmayi rule over the songs respectively given their gorgeous tunes. Vegamaai is uncomfortably close to Harris’ sound, complete with a Christian touch! Unn zone la is the only odd one out; regurgitated rhythms and an archaic ‘bad girl’ template of a tune. After a spate of non-descript soundtracks, composer Joshua Sridhar thankfully finds his bearings in Vithagan’s soundtrack, with wonderful support from Parthiban’s imaginative lyrics.
