Karsan Sargathia’s earthy vocals and the orchestration’s manic energy sees Aag lage us aag ko through easily, while Hans Raj Hans, Shahid Mallya and Wadali Brothers rise above the predictably likeable and mellow Ik tu hi to hi, across three versions. Mallo malli is punchy, catchy Pritam’ish masala. Rashid Khan’s Poore se zara hams up the Punjabi pathos template, while Rabba main toh does the same with the Rabba-filled template, but with mildly better results due to that nice lilt. Sajh dhaj ke too has that handicap – way too conventional, despite all that foot-tapping noise. Mausam’s music engages sporadically.
