Kempe Gowda (Music review), Kannada – Arjun Janya

Posted by Karthik

Sudeep pulls off Hale Radio pretty well, aided by Arjun’s digital intervention; the tune itself is perfectly cooked to be instantly catchy. Thara thara too gets its massy sound bang-on…rhythmic background and a pleasant tune! But Sri Rama, despite that nifty guitar, is plain ol’ Tamil kuthu, nothing more. Arjun surprises again in Geleyane’s lovely melody – choice of Naresh and Lakshmi Manmohan works wonderfully well in this early Rahman’ish tune. The title song is an unabashed remix of many Devi Sri Prasad songs, most notably his title song from Kandasami, however. Three out of five is a great deal!
