Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu (Music review), Hindi – Vasuda Sharma

Aasma girl Vasuda Sharma’s composing debut is not bad at all. In fact, she manages the lighter, fluffy stuff well, like in the catchy and pop’ish title song and Socha na tha, that oddly seems to promise a take-off, but, interestingly, never does! In Batiyan, she uses her vocals aptly for that lilting, albeit simplistic melody. It’s in the other tracks that she stutters – Jagjit Singh’s Bhool jaana is old school template that the singer has already been stereotyped with, while the a capella-style Hasna hasana ends up in a mishmash. Mildly promising debut by yet another lady composer.
