Vaada vinmele is just the kind of brisk, rabble-rousing intro song any young Tamil hero would want – catchy to the hilt, particularly that ‘Netru enbadhoru’ phrase. The composer promptly falters with a rather sedentary Eechalakka and a noisy Edu edu vaalai. Some semblance of music returns with Krish’s Yaaro, with generous traces of Joshua’s earlier tracks – still listenable. The best however is reserved for the Hariharan – Shreya Ghoshal number Rayilin paadhayil – a melody straight out of Rahman’s repertoire 10 years ago, but since even he’s stopped composing them, this does sound good! Middling, but mighty functional.
