Nalandhaana’s kuthu-style retuned, bawdily rewritten version is just incredibly atrocious – Simbu’s vocals adding considerably to the annoyance. But, despite Ilayaraja’s strained singing, Machan machan is endearing in its simple melody, trendy backgrounds and that surprisingly free-flowing pallavi. Vechukkava nejukulla’s pointless remix stays true to the original’s raucous appeal with very limited innovation to distinguish it. The title song gets shamelessly megalomaniac in a terribly stale musical package while Where is the party, taking a significant cue from a popular Tamil folk tune, manages to impress with its drunken playfulness. Two of Yuvan’s songs stand out in this otherwise-routine soundtrack.
