Music review: Vamshi (Kannada, RP Patnaik)

Soham’s Bhuvanam is interesting – neat word play by Nagendra Prasad, used well by RP Patnaik. Jothe jotheyali is painfully routine – standard rhythm and bland singing. Sonu Nigam sounds terrible in the mundane pathos number Yenaytho idho – one muddled mess. Amalu is even worse – almost like a composition from a child. Embarrassing! The rousing Mayagaathi has Udit Narayan’s enthu singing along with Malathi but this sounds more like lame version of a Tamil/ Telugu kuthu track. The only solace in the soundtrack is Dr Rajkumar’s Thayi thayi with Hamsalekha’s soulful composition! RP Patnaik’s Vamshi soundtrack is insipid.
