With an overarching B-grade film soundtrack feel, Hemachandra is definitely hampered by the insipid stuff dished out by composer Harry Anand. Aaja aaja and to some extent, Mehsoos are the only two tracks worth a mention. The entire album is plain tedious, with those terrible tunes, sung with whatever fervor young Hemachandra could muster from them. It’s sad to see the youngster debuting with an album like this – given his potential, a better composer and a better record label, not to mention the eventual better packaging could have worked pretty well! I suppose not everyone gets lucky, despite the hype.
