Just Married (Hindi – Pritam)

Ram milaye jodi is straight out of Vishal’s inventory, with a fine mod nautanki sound. Gudgudee might have induced sleep but for Gulzar’s words and that sneaking tabla. With a nursery rhyme like tune, Baat pakki is thoroughly enjoyable with a catchy orchestration to boot, while Daler surprises in Doha, with a mellow rendition. But its Sonu’s pleasant Jagte Raho, that – despite being a very Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy-styled composition – shows Pritam’s maturity as a composer. It may be Pritam’s resolution for 2007. Or, it may be the Gulzar effect. Just Married opens Pritam’s score for 2007 on a winning note!
