While Lamha Lamha passes muster with an oft used raag’s yet another rendition, O Sikandar has Kailash Kher using his done-to-death vocals in the same old way, in an otherwise predictable wannabe qawali. The pretentious psuedo-English number Yahaan Sabko has Gary Lawyer’s annoying utterances combined with Alisha’s forced, stylish vocals. Vasundhara Das’s Peele Peele adds to the overall headach’ish feel of the album and so do the meaningless remixes. Perhaps Madhur Bhandarkar should stick to making songless films a la Ram Gopal Verma. Music is clearly not his strong point and he doesn’t seem to be interested in them either.
