Dandaana darna abounds with the usual Vijay-intro song lines in an appropriately raucous tune. Sunidhi’s awesome rendition and Yogi – Dr. Burn combination’s backing vocals work well in the catchy Happy new year, while the awkwardly-worded Palaanadhu harks back to Vidyasagar’s early, techno days. The mandatory melody, Thaen thaen is conventional, but is pretty well written and arranged. Mozha mozhannu will have Srikanth Deva fuming – it’s right up his alley…fast-paced kuthu, with the right singers, intonations and phrases. The theme tune is a messy attempt at pleasing everybody. Kuruvi is no Gilli, but does have its own quirky charm.
