Ta ta ta tang has a Santhosh Narayanan’ish twang and a wonderfully whimsical tune that appeals instantly. Nakul Krishnamoorthi and Sankar handle the singing mighty well. Oh punniyala is its companion piece in terms of quirk-appeal, with a bizarrely alluring orchestration mix—including Gopi’s nadaswaram—adding the song’s charm. Haricharan is in his dependable self in Kathangal kinavil, but it is Sankar’s dulcet tune and the bells-loaded orchestration that endears more, while in Manjin kurunne it is a combination of Sankar’s engaging and pensive melody and Vijay Yesudas’ soulful vocals. Sankar Sharma makes an interesting enough and confident debut with Darvinte Parinamam.
