Sigaram Thodu (Music review), Tamil – D.Imman

Takku takku has an easy-to-like lilt and Anthony Daasan handles the hook well, aided by Karky’s colloquial dailyness. Pidikkudhae is melodious, but it’s also so typical of Imman’s style that the tune refuses to sound interesting enough. Scenu scenu is no different, recalling many other earlier songs of Imman that depend on a prominent rhythm and repetitive hooks. Yugabharathi’s lyrics stand out in Anbulla appa, but the tune is outdated desite the valiant violin effort in sprucing it up. The title song just drones on without engaging. Barring Takku takku, this soundtrack doesn’t reach the peak it asks listeners to.
