Chithra lords over Mella thanji konji the way only she can, a frothy and lively tune interspersed with impressive violin and the occasional background’ish thavil/mridangam. The other version of the song, Chithra’s duet with Shaan is a lovely listen too! In Veyil chila, the powerful chorus plays beautifully with Jyotsna’s vocals to fantastic effect. Oho penne is compartively more boy-band pop’ish, but Alaap Raju and Manikandan’s vocals make this one work too, particularly with an imaginative sufi-styled portions mid-way. Mohan Sithara’s son Vishnu and his nephew, Sharath Subramanian make a good combo, and make an impressive debut in Zachariyayude Garbhinikal.
