Ganaraj Adhiraj 2012 (Music review) – Gulraj Singh and Manoj Yadav

Ganpati Bappa Morya’s orchestration is tuned to grand splendor with Prof. Dr Ganesh Chandanshive and Shankar Mahadevan getting excellent support from the chorus. In comparison, the Lalbaugchaa Raajaa aarti is conventionally pious. Bolo na bolo‘s new version pits Shivam Mahadevan’s immaculate singing with Loy Mendonsa’s fangled, intermittent vocals, while Hariharan’s Vandan ho is a lot like a filmy ghazal. The 2 tracks that truly live up to the original are Nandini Srikar’s Tera naam, with Abhay’s Prasanna’ish classical guitar and Jaya jaya ho, a stadium-pop style Ganesh bhajan. Ganaraj Adhiraj 2012 is a half-hearted repackaged extension to the classic original.
